Overview

Some problems start small. Like buying high-resolution WAV files from Bleep, then realizing they don't include metadata. No artist names. No album art. Just pristine audio and the existential dread of manually tagging hundreds of tracks.

Protonic Wave Reversal solves this by converting WAV files to Apple Lossless (ALAC) or FLAC while automatically extracting metadata from accompanying MP3 or FLAC files. What began as a Python script evolved into a full drag-and-drop macOS application. No terminal commands. No tedious manual work. Just simple, reliable conversions.

Features

  • Convert WAV files to ALAC or FLAC with zero quality loss
  • Preserve original fidelity — sample rates and bit depths up to 96kHz/24-bit stay intact
  • Automatically migrate metadata (tags and album art) from MP3/FLAC files
  • Drag-and-drop interface for effortless batch conversion
  • Available as both a free open-source CLI tool and paid macOS GUI app

Technology

Built with Python and FFmpeg for reliable audio processing. The command-line version is open-source and free to use. The macOS GUI provides a streamlined experience for those who prefer dragging files over typing commands.

Pricing
